VINTAGE Mistral Oscillating Fan getting very hot at back of the motor?
Hi i have a VINTAGE Mistral Oscillating Fan and as the back of the motor gets really hot what do i need to stop it from getting so hot,can i use lubricating oil on it and what type and where from? as i am in melbourne australia, here is the photo of the fan

it is also a sealed unit and there are no holes at the top and back
If its not a sealed unit, there should be two spots you can use machine oil....(3-M oil) One in the front, and one in the back. Also make sure it clear of any dust build up. An air compresser is great for blowing it all out. Also, since its so old....the "brushes" may need changing. They are internal parts so its best to have an armenture service shop do it if you want to put the money into it.
