Truck Racecars

in the movie cars when Lightning McQueen is in that tent......?
One of the trucks said maybe we could get enough money to buy you some head lights. Then another truck said "Aer you saying that he doesn't have any headlights?"
Then McQueen said " You know racecars don't need headlights, because the track is always lit."
Then a truck said "So is my brother, but he still needs headlights."
I don't get how that is funny. How is that funny?
it means that he is always drunk
