Die Cut
Will a tree die if you cut a large limb off of it?
Someone came and cut one large limb off one of my cedar trees and did not come back for the rest of the tree.I was offering these trees free for firewood if they cut them down and haul away but I suppose it was too much work for them.Just wondering if that tree will die since it's been exposed to the elements.

On the other hand, they probably will be using that branch as a Christmas tree. I kid you not. People are so funny, aren't they!
If you allow the public to cut your trees any way they wish, you are going to be left with a terrible mess. They will leave ugly stumps all over the place.
Yes, your tree will live. This is called pruning and most trees get pruned during the colder months.
