Backlit Lighted

mixture does not "disappear" I want to fill a number of pots of beer with something bright to make them look like they
Water (but not the mess if they are hit more), they will be backlit with color changing lights This would have the added effect of gelatin work? Would it go? cheapish any other ideas? had another thought would clear hair gel go after a bit dodgey or not?
or soft gelatin will melt at room temperature.
