Sew Iron

iron on or sew on?
I bought a "wife-beater" tank from a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. It is about 3 inches too short. I would like to cut out the design and either sew it on a different shirt or iron it on. Any Suggestions?
BOTH
Go to a craft store and by the 'stitch-witchery' or whatever they call it at your store. It will be a thin layer of stiff material that you place between two fabrics to create iron ons.
After to get your design where you want it, iron it on.
Then go back around the edge with a zig zag stitch. This will keep it in place and keep it from peeling off after several washings.
(So - did you have a rough voice the next day from yelling "FREEBIRD" at the top of your lungs for 15 minutes??)
