How wide is a fire engine?
What is the minimum width of gate to let a fire engine through?
It cannot be over 2,55m wide so that plus some clearance either side.
Bear in mind also that the engine might not approach directly and if it will be still turning it will need more space or the gate needs to be set back from the roadway to allow the turn to complete before the gate is reached
