Miniature Voyager

Posted on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in Collectibles

What is the name of this specific opera song that the doctor is singing on star trek voyager.?

Star Trek Voyager Season 6: Virtuoso

Late in the episode, the doctor performs again in the Messhall:
"In the Messhall, the Doctor is seated at a table while Qomarians queue up. On the table a holographic miniature of the Doctor singing the same aria from 'Don Carlo' by Verdi that he sang at the Messhall concert. Part-way through he joins in a duet in harmony with his miniature hologram. The queueing Qomarians are enthralled."

This specific song is the one I would like to know the name of. I checked I-tunes but this verse he sings isn't highlighted

You could have made this easier by putting a link to the correct clip since I for one never saw the Voyager show. If it is the duet below, it is called "Dio che nell'alma infondere", and the singing was apparently dubbed by a real opera singer named Agostino Castanola. The actor playing the Doctor did do some of his own singing in the episode, but Verdi is HARD! See link:

I'm including links to a fuller version with Placido Domingo, and also to the lyrics and translation.
