1998 Sunfire heater?

I cannot get this car to heat up in colder weather. I have the radiator totally blocked off - I've bled all the air out of the cooling system and I have installed three separate thermostats. The thermostat cannot be installed backwards in these cars. And the blessed temperature gauge barely moves in the winter. When I lived in Ontario it was a minor inconvenience. I now live in Northern Saskatchewan and I'm freezing my A R S E off with the heater going full bore. What is wrong with this car (besides being a Sunfire)? Is it possible that someone has installed the accessory belt incorrectly and the water pump is rotating backwards. The decal for belt position is missing.
The heater core is fine - good flow. It's the engine that's not getting warm. In warm weather the engine will warm up and the heater blows really HOT!

the heater core may be blocked if you can remove both hoses to the hearter core from the engine side....... take a garden hose and try flushing out the core ....also try turning on just the heat controlknob while you flush it ...if it doesnt flush then it may be the water inlet valve is bad or stuck closed the valve may be located on the right fender wall up near the fire wall or it maybe inside the car inside the dash but that im not sure of models and years veri......also the vacum valve that operates the heat door may need replacing...... if your not able to figure this out try a repair shop or a chilton auto repair manual
